Dogs and Mural
The dogs pictured above were drawn freehand, and then painted over and drawn again. This process happened until the dogs took the shape envisaged by the artist. They were then painted in a red ground and painted again until they appear as they do now. They have been cut out and will be pasted on the wall mentioned above in October, 2012.
The images for the mural pictured below were projected onto large sheets of paper at the Julia Street Creative Space (JSCS). These Images were then cut out and arranged by students until they arrived at a composition for the mural in the upstairs studio at JSCS. The paper images were then taken to the wall at Animal Stuff in Percy Street and traced with indelible marker and painted in several layers of different coloured paint. Again starting with a ground and working up to the final paint colours. A basic sealant was then applied. This process was done to avoid projecting at night.
The Re-engagement Program would like to thank Animal Stuff and Julia Street Creative Space for their support of this project.
